If you’re a shopaholic who loves quirky collectibles, accessories that are both elegant and cute as a button, and great fashion that’s not available in branded stores, Bangalore was the place to be on Sunday as the city played host to two flea markets — Kitsch Mandi and Souk On The Move. Oh, and with Valentine’s Day around the corner, there were plenty of unique gifting ideas too!
We headed to Kitsch Mandi right after lunch and found that the stifling heat couldn’t stop shoppers from doing their thing. Highlights of Kitsch Mandi? Tea for a poem, where you had to write a poem for a cup of tea; fridge magnets made of bread (no they’re not edible) and pottery making. Here are a few snapshots from the Mandi:
UPDATE: We are having trouble uploading the images. See them on our facebook page.
The first ever Souk On The Move was held at the St John’s amphitheatre in Koramangala. Here we saw some really sexy shoes, scarves and jewelry stalls, more quirky fridge magnets and framed posters. The hightlight of the Souk (Arabic for market) was probably the Indian music band, Lagori, whose lead singer Tejas entertained not only with his singing, but also his witty lines and interaction with the crowd.
